2017 Highground Learning Center Exhibits:

 

Nov. 2016—Jan. 2017 — Through the Eyes
A collection of photographs, memorabilia,
weapons, equipment and other artifacts from
Vietnam. This collection belongs to Vietnam Vet
John Hosier; put together as a way of dealing
with his PTSD.

 

Feb.-April 2017 — B.G. Everett Military Collection This personal multi-era collection of military memorabilia is a must see for all generations.

 

May 2017 — Lao Hmong Display A vibrant, educational exhibit on the Lao Hmong heritage and military service.

 

June—Aug. 2017— Long Shadow: Memories of Vietnam The series consists of six mural-sized acrylic paintings on canvas based on memories and photos David Giffey took as a combat journalist with the Army 1st Infantry Division during the war in Vietnam. Other photographs and captions accompany the exhibit.

 

Sept.—Nov. 2017— Jeffrey Stenbom’s Glass Sculptors “Window to a Veterans Soul” Jeffrey; an Iraq veteran, faced new challenges dealing with PTSD. His experiences led him to search for passionate and creative means of exploring his emotions, political beliefs, personal views of the world and psychological distress. He feels art is not meant to fix problems, but to make others aware they exist, so change , comfort and understanding can happen.
