Annual Winter Bowl Raises $6,099 for The Highground’s 2022 Veterans Retreats

After two years, the repetitive thud of bowling balls rolling down long narrow wooden lanes could be heard again at Rose Bowl Lanes in Marshfield on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022 as The Highground’s 9th Annual Winter Bowl proceeded as “normal”. Putting the “fun” in fundraising, approximately 90 bowlers came together, young and old, Veteran and civilian, to raise $6,099 for The Highground’s 2022 Veterans Retreats.

This event is unique in that it is an annual fundraiser designated strictly for the organization’s Veterans Retreats. The goal of these retreats is to create an atmosphere of camaraderie, peace and relaxation for our Veterans while offering them support, new ideas, workshops and information to help dissipate their burdens and soften their memories.

The Highground is eternally thankful to everyone who participated in the event and for the community’s ongoing support: Reigel Plumbing & Heating, Marshfield; Simplicity Credit Union, Marshfield, Stevens Point, Plover; Schmidt’s Melody Garden’s Inc., Marshfield; Dunkin, Marshfield; Merle Norman-The Day Spa, Marshfield; Richard Ottum; Heinzen Printing & Promotional, Marshfield; Bonnie Henchen; Fred & Kim Berg; Meyer, Meyer & Associates, Marshfield; Weber’s Farm Store, Marshfield; Starbucks, Marshfield; Chips Hamburgers, Marshfield; Bigby Coffee, Marshfield; Hillers True Value, Marshfield; Lumberyard Bar & Grill, Marshfield; WI Timber Rattlers; Gypsie Hollow, Marshfield; Foreign Automotive LLC, Marshfield; WWIS FM105.3 | FM99.7; Central Wisconsin Broadcasting; Rolling Thunder Chapter 4, Augusta; Hardees of Colby, Medford, Neillsville.
