Family PTS Support Group Meeting July 2022

Jon Christensen will present on the subject of post-traumatic stress triggers and other PTS management topics at the Family PTS Support Group gathering on Sunday, July 17 at 2pm.

Jon is a Vietnam Veteran and licensed counselor with fifty years of collective experience at the Milwaukee Vets Center, Healing Warrior Hearts, the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Captain John D. Mason Veteran Peer Outreach Program and others. Jon has a lifetime of experience in the Veteran Community with a passion and purpose to improve the transition from military to civilian life and culture for veterans and military families. We are looking forward to meeting Jon and thank him for joining us in this important outreach.

This is not a professional counseling event. It is a gathering for those who are interested in learning more about PTS resources that are available for families. It presents an opportunity for attendees to make connections with others who are or have been, “in their shoes”; and it is a place to connect with a peer-support system that can help during times when a person may feel alone in their loved one’s struggle with PTS. This family support group will bring a community together around those who are struggling.

Please note: The support group gathering will be held at The Highground Administration building (East of the Museum) instead of the picnic area due to the forecasted high temperatures.
