Learn to Recognize and Manage PTSD Triggers at the Next Family PTS Support Group Meeting on July 17

The next Family PTS Support Group will meet at The Highground on Sunday, July 17 at 2pm. Veterans, families and the public are invited to attend the gathering to obtain resources and more information on post-traumatic stress (PTS).

Michael Orban, Vietnam Veteran, author and founder / co-host ‘Stigma Free Vet Zone’ The Podcast (orbanfoundationforveterans.org) will present information on recognizing and managing “triggers” of PTS and share information about how the community can make progress with de-stigmatizing PTS to encourage healing.

This is not a professional counseling event. It is a gathering for those who are interested in learning more about PTS and gaining access to resources and connections to aid in PTS management and suicide prevention.

For Veterans and families, this is a unique opportunity to make connections with others who are, or have been, “in your shoes”; and a place to connect with a peer-support system that can help during times when a person may feel alone in their loved one’s struggle with PTS.

One of the biggest hurdles to an individual or family managing PTS and fearing the realities of Veteran suicide can be the feeling of being alone. This support group strives to bring a community together around those who are struggling.
