PTSD books given to those who would benefit from this information

PTSD: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder—affects many of the veterans today. A “magic” number we think of at The Highground is twenty. For every person killed in the current war, there are twenty that come back home suffering from PTSD. They are MIA (Missing in America). Missing an arm, a leg, body part or part of their psyche, they no longer are the same person as before they went to war.

The Highground Gift Shop and Information Center has three wonderful books that are given to those who visit that would benefit from this information. They are:

Courage After Fire by Keith Armstrong; Suzanne Best; Paula Domeinci

Tears of a Warrior by Janet J. Seahorn and E. Anthony Seahorn

Souled Out: A Memoir of War and Inner Peace by Michael S. Orban

If you, or someone you know, may be suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) or if you are not sure if you have this, please come to The Highground to get a book and compare your story to the author’s story.

For more assistance, you can also call on the Tomah VA’s program call at 608-372-1651.

Todd Stage, Vet Center Counselor, is also available at The Highground on Thursdays.
