Starting the Conversation Between Veteran & Family on Sunday, August 21

The Highground Veteran and Family PTS Peer Support Group will meet at The Highground on Sunday, August 21 at 2pm. Veterans, families and the public are invited to attend the casual gathering to obtain resources and more information on post-traumatic stress (PTS).

This gathering will focus on how to begin conversations between the Veteran and their family and friends on PTS management and how to open the door to sharing military service experiences. The hope is that these discussions will help build better, trusting relationships between these loved ones.

For Veterans and families, this is a unique opportunity to make connections with others who are or have been “in your shoes”. It is also a safe space to connect with a peer-support system that can help during those times when a person may feel alone in their loved one’s struggle with PTS.

This is not a professional counseling event. It is a gathering for those interested in learning more about PTS and gaining access to resources and connections to aid in PTS management and suicide prevention.

RSVP’s are appreciated but not mandatory. To RSVP or for more information, contact Theresa at The Highground via email to museum@thehighground.us or by calling 715-743-4224.

The Highground is located at W7031 Ridge Rd, Neillsville WI 54456. thehighground.us.
