The 22nd Annual Ride to Remember Gears up on August 20

Riders lining up at the American Legion during the 21st Annual Ride to Remember.

On Saturday, August 20, over 200 motorcyclists will come together for The Highground’s 22nd Annual Ride to Remember®—to ride in remembrance of the sacrifices of every U.S. service member. Veterans and Veteran supporters will gather to enjoy rides in picturesque Clark County and help raise funds for The Highground.

Highlights of the event include three scenic rides led by experienced motorcyclists, live music by Uncle Ron from 10:30am to 1:00pm, basket and 50/50 raffles, a parade through Neillsville and a ceremonial meal (included with registration) at The Highground with a ceremony to follow. Kickstands go up at 10:30am and 1pm for two one-hour rides and at noon for a single two-hour ride. The parade of bikes will leave the American Legion at 2:45pm to wind its way through Neillsville and then on to The Highground.

The Highground is honored to have Bronze Star and Purple Heart Recipient, Brian Eisch of Casco, WI, as the event’s guest speaker. In 2010, Brian was wounded in action. He retired from the Army in 2012 as a result of his wounds at the rank of Master Sergeant. In 2020, Netflix released the Emmy Award Winning Documentary “Father Soldier Son” about Brian and his family, focusing on the trials and tribulations of a military family.

The Highground is exceedingly grateful for this year’s supporters: VFW Riders District 7, PBBS Equipment Corporation–Menomonee Falls, American Legion Post 73–Neillsville, Dairyland Originals Women On Wheels, Rolling Thunder Inc. WI Chapter 2, Hansen’s IGA–Neillsville, Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association 45-6, Central Wisconsin Broadcasting, WWIS Radio and Bonnie Henchen–Neillsville.

Riders and passengers can register onsite beginning at 9:30am at the Neillsville American Legion Post #73 in Neillsville (Boon Blvd.) or at thehighground.us/events/22nd-annual-ride-to-remember. There will be trike riders offering Veterans a chance to ride along on one of the scheduled rides and/or in the parade to The Highground. Those who are interested are encouraged to email Bonnie at events@thehighground.us for information.

The public is welcome to take part in the raffles, music and event ceremony. All funds raised by the ride will benefit Veterans’ experiences at the Park and through The Highground’s Veterans programs.
