The Highground 37th Annual Heroes Ride Bike Tour has Arrived

The Heroes Ride Annual Bike Tour, in its 37th year, is the largest annual fundraiser for The Highground Veterans Memorial Park. On Friday, July 31, 2021, bicycle enthusiasts, led by experienced route leaders, will depart from five different locations around Wisconsin and travel roughly 734 miles to The Highground. Along their routes, many community and Veteran organizations will provide tasty meals and a place to sleep for the night. Their journey is a celebration of their support for The Highground’s efforts to provide and improve Veterans programs like the Veterans Weekends Retreats, facilitate homeless Veteran drives, and support PTS/PTSD programs for Veterans and their families.

On Sunday morning, August 1, each group will begin the last leg of their journey, heading to The Highground and arriving around 11:30 am. Upon arrival, the routes will join together as one and proceed down the flag-lined road. A short ceremony and light meal will follow.

Although their journey is long and at times challenging, their cause keeps them pedaling. Everyone is cordially invited to The Highground on Sunday at 11:30 am to show their support and welcome the riders.

The Highground thanks every rider who has returned year after year to take part in this amazing event and looks forward to seeing new riders join. Those who would like to join this year are invited to visit thehighgroundheroesride.com for route and registration information. Besides the fun and camaraderie of a multi-day bicycle event, each registered rider and SAG personnel will receive a “Welcome Home” lunch at The Highground and a 37th Annual Bike Tour t-shirt.
