The Kokosz Sisters Raise Over $3,000 for The Highground and Camp Victory

An effort to support The Highground that started five years ago, as 25 raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle for a chili cook-off, has grown exponentially into 90+ raffle bundles and a whole lot of fun. Mary and Sue Kokosz come from a military family and have found that supporting our Veterans and The Highground’s mission to be tremendously rewarding. It works out great too because organizing the raffle is the perfect way for them to continue to enjoy their shopping excursions while doing something meaningful at the same time.

Mary and Sue spend hours upon hours working on the raffle—soliciting donations, shopping sales for raffle items and putting the baskets and bundles together. The sisters go the extra mile by labeling each bundle with the contents and adding a colorful ribbon.  “We both have full-time jobs that are very hectic. When my sister is out and about, running around on errands and she sees something neat for a raffle, she’ll text me a pic and I reply back with a thumbs up!!” Sue Kokosz said.

Mary and Sue organized well over 90 bundles for the 20th Annual Ride to Remember™ Raffle on August 15, 2020, raising over $3000. The sisters requested that all proceeds be donated directly to Camp Victory this year.

Mark your calendar for January 31, 2021, for the “Kokosz Sisters” next raffle during the 8th Annual Winter Bowl. For more information about The Highground’s events and more, visit our Calendar of Events.
