Veterans Day at The Highground

Please join The Highground for their annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11 from 10am-1pm. Starting the day at 10am, the names of the Wisconsin KIAs/MIAs/POWs from WWII to present day will be read and honored with the tolling of The Highground Liberty Bell. With all present and accounted for, the Thorp VFW Post 9057 will present Colors on the Plaza at 11am. The Highground is honored to have Betty Sitler as the guest speaker that day. Betty is the wife of Harold “Red” Sitler, who was captured at Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War and held as a POW for three long years.

Veteran support and services will be onsite for continued resources. Coffee and cookies will be served.

Note: Due to the COVID-19 extended and stricter state-mandated mask requirement, the ceremony will be held outdoors and the length of the event will be determined by the weather.

Attendees are also invited to stop by The Highground Museum to explore the “We Were There: Korea” exhibit for an unforgettable experience.

For questions or information about the ceremony, please contact Bonnie at events@thehighground.us or call 715-743-4224. Visit the Calendar of Events page for event information, news and more.

The Highground is located at W7031 Ridge Road, Neillsville WI 54456.
