Wuethrich Foundation and Grassland Dairy Products Commits $100,000 to The Highground Rising Campaign

The Wuethrich Foundation and Grassland Dairy Products, Inc. of Greenwood, Wisconsin, has pledged $100,000 for the Theater Room naming rights to The Highground Rising $4M capital campaign. Since 1904 and through five generations, the Wuethrich Family has worked with hundreds of Wisconsin dairy farmers to consistently produce the highest quality dairy ingredients.

Chairman of the Wuethrich Foundation, Trevor J. Wuethrich, said, “The Wuethrich Foundation emphasizes contributions based on economic development within our local communities and is a proud sponsor of The Highground Rising Campaign. Not only will the campaign honor our state’s Veterans, but it will provide education to thousands more visitors annually about their sacrifice and the cost of war imposed on their families.”

“We are grateful to the Wuethrich Family for their commitment to help The Highground construct our new Welcome Center and complete other upgrades to the memorial park,” says Chris Pettis, Executive Director. “The people and businesses of this region continue to support economic development and quality of life opportunities that make this area a wonderful place for us to continue our mission to Honor, Educate and Heal Veterans and their families,” he adds.

From its founding by Tom Miller and a small group of Vietnam Veterans in 1984, The Highground organization has grown from its memorial park roots, hosting more than 225,000 visitors annually and serving 7,000 Veterans with individual referral, support and healing services.

The Highground’s vision endeavors to continue its mission of:

  • Honoring Veterans by educating more large tour and school groups
  • Connecting Veterans to essential health services and providers
  • Providing a Veteran-focused gathering space for events and holiday services and
  • Offering expanded specialized retreats at Camp Victory

The $4M capital campaign launched in April. To date nearly $1.1M has been raised in cash and pledges. The organization plans to break ground on its 12,000 square foot Welcome Center this fall.
