The Highground will be collecting items for homeless Veterans and needy families beginning November 1 through February 1, 2021. Items that are needed the most are disposable hand warmer and foot warmer packets, new socks, hats and gloves. We are also collecting new or gently used and clean winter jackets, boots, hats and mittens, sleeping bags, non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products.

The items will be distributed to homeless Veterans locally, in the Chippewa Falls area and in the Twin Cities. Items will also go to support homeless Veterans and Veterans in need in the Tomah area. The Highground collects and distributes items to homeless Veterans year-round; however, the need is significantly more acute during the winter months.

The collection site is the lower level of The Highground Museum. Items can be dropped off any day of the week between 10am–4pm. For more information about this initiative, call Theresa at 715-743-4224 or send an email to museum@thehighground.us.
