The Highground Cordially Extends Invitation To Veterans Organization Open House

The Highground Veterans Memorial Park is hosting an Open House for Veterans Organizations and an Executive Director Meet & Greet on June 6 from 9am-12pm. “We look forward to welcoming individuals from the Veterans Service Organizations to The Highground—to learn more about their organizations and share information about the Veterans programs we support,” said Liz Hamilton, Marketing Coordinator. “We also hope to create a stronger referral network to increase awareness for The Highground’s mission across the state.”

Executive Director Chris Pettis, who joined the team earlier this year, will be there to meet with the Veterans organizations and the community. Pettis is a Veteran who served at numerous bases stateside and was deployed to Somalia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Kuwait and Iraq. Gary Weirauch, Vice Chair of The Highground Board of Directors, shared, “Chris’s natural leadership qualities really impressed us during the interview process. We also learned that PTSD has personally impacted Chris’s life which we strongly feel will give him the ability to relate to our Veterans.”

This event is open to the public. The Highground Staff will be there to share information about future events and offer tours of the park at 9am and 11am.

People are invited to call 715-743-4224 for questions about the Open House. Event updates and more are available on The Highground’s website at thehighground.us/calendar. Supporters are encouraged to sign up for their Enewsletter and follow them on Facebook.
