Another batch of beautiful quilts went home with 28 happy winners during The Highground’s Patriotic Quilt Raffle held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. 1,006 tickets were sold, raising a total of $3,510. The funds will be used for a variety of necessities that will allow The Highground to continue its mission of honoring, healing and educating our Veterans and their families and everyone who visits the Park.
The annual Quilt Raffle is made possible due to the talents and generosity of numerous quilters who donated their patriotic-themed quilts to The Highground. The Highground received 28 quilts throughout 2022. Some quilts were dropped off by anonymous donors. Other quilts were created by: Louise Wagner, Laura Culver, the Rio Quilt Guild, Delia Chy, the Wausau Area Shoebox Shufflers, the Piece Corp FLC of Marshfield, Cyndie Shultz, Karen Volkert, Alice Weickett, Susan Moerke, First Lutheran Church of Prentice, Cathy Anderkin, Marge Rohland, Mary Lou Kirchner, Nancy Brown, Becky & Troy Heuvelmans, Cheri Back, Jane Schultz & family, Linda Johnston, Joan Garlick, Terry Stiner, Connie Soppa, Linda Berg, Delores Madsen, Nazareth Lutheran Church, Paula Makela and Peg Ottum.
