Twenty-eight quilts went home with happy winners on Saturday, December 9 after the drawing for The Highground’s Annual Patriotic Quilt Raffle. Over 580 tickets were sold which raised $1,900. These funds will be used for various necessities that assist The Highground in continuing its crucial mission of honoring, educating and healing for our Veterans, families and the community.
“A favorite part of our year is when we get to display these wonderful quilts during the fall months and then share in the fun of them going to their new homes to be enjoyed during the colder months. We are always in awe of the creative patterns, amazing workmanship and generosity of the quilters!”, said Theresa Hebert with The Highground.
This year’s quilt raffle was made possible because of the talents and generosity of several quilters who donated an amazing assortment of beautiful, patriotic-themed quilts. Quilters/donors: Bev Bryan, Joanne Hanson, Laura Culver, Dorothy Kremm, Louise Wagner, Delia Chy, Barb Schneider, Joan & Doug Vande Castle, Helping Hands Quilt Group, Cyndie Schultz, First Lutheran Church–Prentice, Mary Thums, Beverly Hora, Audrey Tesch, Bonnie Uhren, Beth Laatsch, Linda Johnston, Joan Garlick, Connie Soppa, Terri Stiner, Strum American Legion Auxiliary, Strum VFW Auxiliary 6550, Kristin Bishopp, Deb Berg, Cheri Case, Amy Schneider, Delores Madsen, Linda Berg, Cheri Back, The Sunshine Group, Sue Guenther, Elaine Iattoni, Marge Rohland, Nancy Brown, Mary Lou Kirchner and Paula Makela.
