The Highground’s 36th Annual Heroes Ride Bike Tour is Making Its Way Across the State

The Heroes Ride Annual Bike Tour, now in its 36th year, is the largest single annual fundraiser for The Highground.

On Friday morning, July 31, 2020, riders led by experienced route leaders will travel over 730 miles in support of the mission to Honor, Educate and Heal our Veterans, their families, and all who come to experience this incredible memorial site. These route leaders and riders are truly inspiring. Three of the routes, with the help of some amazing local supporters, are moving forward with their rides by taking steps necessary to keep everyone safe and socially distanced. Two of the routes are making it happen by completely “virtual” rides.

The Eastern route will travel 135 miles, the Western route will travel 165 miles, the Southern route will travel 185 miles, the Northern route will travel 169 miles, and the Southwestern route will travel 80 miles.

The Highground thanks all the riders who have returned year after year to take part in this amazing event and looks forward to seeing new riders join! To get involved this year, riders are encouraged to contact the route leader for the route they would like to join as soon as possible. Information is available on the website at thehighgroundheroesride.com.

Besides the fun and camaraderie of a multi-day bicycle event, each registered rider and SAG personnel will receive a 36th Annual Bike Tour t-shirt. Participants who opt to ride to The Highground will also receive a “welcome home” lunch.
