The Ride to Remember Revs Up for its 23rd Year August 19

On Saturday, August 19, over 200 motorcyclists will come together at the Neillsville American Legion Post 73 for The Highground’s 23rd Annual Ride to Remember® in recognition of honor and valor. Veterans and Veteran supporters will gather to enjoy rides in picturesque Clark County and help raise funds for The Highground and its Veterans programming. Although the riders and the number of riders may change every year, it’s easy to see that the desire remains the same: to remember the fallen and honor the living.

Highlights of the event include three scenic rides led by experienced motorcyclists, live music by the band Uncle Ron from 10am–1pm, a ginormous basket raffle organized by Sue and Mary Kokosz (the “Basket Babes”), 50/50 raffles and vendors. The public is welcome to take part in the raffles and the event ceremony.

Registration for the Ride to Remember begins at 9 am at the American Legion in Neillsville (6 Boon Blvd, Neillsville, WI 54456). Join any of the three scenic rides led by experienced motorcyclists: Ride 1 will be from 10–11am; Ride 2 will be from noon–2pm; and Ride 3 will be from 1–2pm. All the riders will leave the American Legion at 2:45pm to take their 4th and final ride of the day, winding their way through Neillsville and out to The Highground. This ride is meant to remember all of the fallen brothers and sisters of service. There will be trike riders offering Veterans a chance to join one of the scheduled rides. Those who would like more information are encouraged to email Bonnie at events@thehighground.us.

The Highground is a tranquil Veterans park located in central Wisconsin, offering a place of reflection and hope for many Veterans and their families.
