Larry Kizewski & Charlotte Hense are once again showing their steadfast support for The Highground’s Vets & Guitars program. On October 15, Larry and Charlotte arrived at the park to visit with Executive Director Chris Pettis and Vets & Guitars Coordinator Theresa Hebert. They presented Chris with a sizeable donation to help fund the program throughout 2026 along with a beautiful guitar to be given to one lucky veteran attending the current Fall Vets & Guitars course.

These special courses, part of The Highground’s Veterans Programs, are offered to military veterans free of charge due in large part to wonderful supporters like Larry and Charlotte who understand the benefits of such offerings. Art and music have been found to help many veterans managing PTSD reduce anxiety and stress while providing a positive outlet to express their emotions. These classes offer a therapeutic space for veterans to develop creative skills and connect with peers who understand their journeys.

The Spring Vets & Guitars course dates for 2026 will be announced early next year.

The Highground has several other offerings within their Veterans Programs on the horizon. They will be hosting several CAMO (Community and Military Outreach) offerings in November and December. Supporters are encouraged to visit the Calendar of Events at thehighground.us/calendar for dates and details. And the annual Winter Veterans Retreat is coming up January 16-18. Veterans who are interested in a little winter R&R are encouraged to register soon with Theresa by emailing museum@thehighground.org or calling 715-743-4224. The registration deadline is December 31, 2025.
